Robin Roberts is an American television broadcaster famous for being an anchor of ABC’s Good Morning America.She was the first woman of color and first openly LGBT woman to host the American TV game show Jeopardy.
Roberts worked as a sports anchor for local TV and radio stations after growing up in Mississippi and attending Southeastern Louisiana University. For 15 years, Roberts worked as an ESPN sportscaster.
In 2005, she was named co-anchor of Good Morning America. In 2012, Roberts was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Her treatment for myelodysplastic syndrome was documented in the show, which won a Peabody Award for its coverage in 2012.
She attended Pass Christian High School and graduated as salutatorian of the class of 1979.
