Arlene Bryce Max Harper is an American baseball player who plays first base, outfield, and designated hitter for the Major League Baseball (MLB) Philadelphia Phillies. From 2012 until 2018, he was a player with the Washington Nationals.
Harper, who is one of the most highly anticipated draft prospects in recent memory, is described as a “five-tool player.” After his sophomore year, he transferred from Las Vegas High School to the College of Southern Nevada, where he was named a 2010 Golden Spikes Award winner.
In the 2010 MLB draft, Harper was chosen by the Nationals as the first overall choice. April 28, 2012, was his MLB debut with the Nationals, as a 19-year-old.2021 saw him win his second NL MVP crown with the Phillies.
The next year, he was a key player in the Phillies’ first pennant since 2009 and helped guide them to their first playoff trip in eleven years. He also won the NLCS MVP award.
Harper attended Las Vegas High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.. Harper was called his sport’s “Chosen One” in a cover article by Sports Illustrated in May 2009, drawing comparisons between him and LeBron James. He was named the high school player of the year by Baseball America the same spring.
